Ford presents the 2025 F-150 in a variety of equipment packages to meet the needs of individual drivers. The eight trim levels are the XL, STX, XLT, Tremor, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Raptor. We also present a separate highly detailed overview of the Raptor and Raptor R, since they stand apart with their capabilities and features. Those interested in an electrified version of the F-150 can explore the F-150 Lightning, which we also cover in a separate model overview.
The 2025 F-150 offers three cab configurations. The two-door regular cab is exclusive to the base XL, while the Super Cab – with two front doors and two rear access doors – is offered on the XL, STX, and XLT. The four-door SuperCrew, which provides the most passenger space, is available on all trim levels. Buyers can also select from three bed lengths: 5.5 feet, 6.5 feet, and 8.0 feet, with availability depending on the selected trim and cab style.
The engine options for the ‘25 F-150 are diverse. The base powerplant (for the XL, STX, and XLT) is Ford’s twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, which makes 325 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. The 5.0-liter V8, which produces 400 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque, is available for those three lowest trims and comes standard in the Tremor and Lariat. There's also a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with an output of 400 hp and 510 lb.-ft. of torque; it’s available for the XL, Tremor, and Lariat and standard in the King Ranch and Platinum. A gas-electric hybrid version of the 3.5-liter V6 producing 430 hp and 570 lb.-ft. of torque is optional for the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. The Raptor stands apart with an exclusive high-output 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost that churns out 450 hp and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. Those opting for the raucous Raptor R Package can enjoy even more vigor with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that generates 720 hp and 640 lb.-ft. of torque.
A 10-speed automatic transmission is paired with each of the aforementioned powerplants. Rear-wheel drive comes standard on the XL, STX, and XLT, with four-wheel drive (4WD) optional. The higher trims get standard 4WD. The ‘25 F-150 is made for towing significant loads, with a maximum towing capacity of up to 13,500 pounds and a payload capacity of up to 2,440 pounds, depending on the trim, engine, and setup.
The EPA-estimated fuel economy for six-cylinder F-150s ranges from 16 to 22 mpg city and 23 to 25 mpg highway, depending on the drivetrain and trim. The V8 version achieves an estimated 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, or 14 mpg city/18 mpg highway for the V6-equipped Raptor.
