2025 Ford
Escape Hybrid
As a solid member of the in-demand compact crossover category, the 2025 Ford Escape Hybrid supplements
the longstanding nameplate’s style and utility with a boost in fuel efficiency. Comfortably hosting five
passengers, this gas-electric utility vehicle achieves an EPA-estimated 40 mpg in city driving, easing
environmental impact and saving dollars at the pump. Its four trims offer a modern yet subtle exterior
design and technologically advanced interior and safety features. Ample passenger and cargo space,
including the ability to tow a small trailer, complete the picture of this highly versatile
vehicle.
The 2025 Ford Escape Hybrid is described on this page in detail. Please see our
respective pages on the conventional gas-powered Escape and the Escape Plug-In Hybrid for more
information on those models.
Trims and Powertrains
Available in four trim levels, the 2025 Ford Escape Hybrid suits a variety of needs and budgets. The
ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, and ST-Line Elite all get the same powertrain: a 2.5-liter
four-cylinder engine working with an Atkinson motor for a combined output of 192 horsepower. The ST-Line
and Platinum feature front-wheel drive (FWD); all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional on the Platinum and
standard on the ST-Line Select and ST-Line Elite. Both drivetrains use a continuously variable
transmission (CVT).
If you’re interested in this hybrid model, it’s apparent that fuel economy is
one of your priorities. The Escape Hybrid achieves an EPA-estimated 42 mpg around town and 36 mpg on the
highway, regardless of the powertrain. There’s 34.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row,
which will expand to 60.8 cubic feet when the back seat is folded down. With proper equipment installed,
the Escape Hybrid can tow up to 1,500 pounds.
Standard Equipment
The ST-Line heads up the 2025 Escape Hybrid’s lineup, featuring proximity keyless entry, dual-zone
automatic climate control, a power-adjustable (eight ways) driver’s seat, auto-on/off LED headlights, a
combination of vinyl and fabric upholstery, push-button start, a premium-wrapped steering wheel, a
sliding 60/40 split-folding second row, an 8-inch driver information display, a tilt-and-telescopic
steering column, rear privacy glass, two USB ports per row, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. The three
ST-Line trims showcase sporty design elements, including a black mesh grille, an enhanced rear spoiler,
rooftop side rails, a rear skid plate, and unique 18-inch aluminum wheels. The ST-Line Select gets a mix
of fabric and leatherette upholstery, a heated flat-bottomed steering wheel, a power liftgate, heated
exterior mirrors, LED fog lights, and remote start.
Chrome exterior accents enhance the Platinum,
and the upgrades continue inside with ActiveX upholstery, heated sport contour front seats (ten-way
power for the driver, six-way for the passenger), and a driver’s-side memory system. The optional
Platinum upgrades include a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, an LED light bar integrated into the
grille design, rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless device charging, and
19-inch wheels. At the top of the trim suite, the ST-Line Elite combines the Platinum’s premium features
with the performance-inspired look of the ST-Line Select.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
Each 2025 Escape Hybrid is outfitted with Ford’s Co-Pilot360 safety technology suite, which includes forward collision warning, automatic high beams, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, dynamic brake support, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping alert, lane-keeping assist, and a driver attention monitoring system. The Platinum and ST-Line Elite trims go next level by adding adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, and rear parking sensors. A surround-view monitor is optional on the ST-Line Select, Platinum, and ST-Line Elite. Active Park Assist, Ford’s semi-automatic parking system, is also included on the Platinum and ST-Line Elite.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Ford’s SYNC4 technology is the foundation of the Escape Hybrid’s infotainment platform, controlled via an 8-inch touchscreen monitor in the lower trims. On the Platinum and ST-Line Elite, this is upgraded to a 13.2-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation (optional on the ST-Line and ST-Line Select). Wireless smartphone connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth, and SiriusXM radio come standard on all trims, as does access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and FordPass Connect services (with a paid subscription). While the default audio system has six speakers, all trims above the ST-Line may upgrade to the optional Bang & Olufsen unit with ten speakers.
