2025 Ford
E-Transit
From startups to large corporations, businesses rely on the Ford Transit lineup – America’s best-selling
commercial van brand – and the 2025 E-Transit brings that proven dependability into the electric era. It
provides an EPA-estimated range of up to 159 miles on a full charge1, which is more than double the
average 74-mile daily usage of commercial vans in the U.S.
Business owners appreciate that the
E-Transit is designed for cost-efficiency and confidence. It offers significant savings with up to 48
percent lower scheduled maintenance costs compared to gas and diesel vans, and its 3-year/36,000-mile
upfit warranty is backed by more than 2,800 Ford dealerships nationwide, meaning long-term support is
always within reach. When you factor in access to Ford Pro’s powerful productivity software and a new
$2,000 Commercial Charging Cash Incentive, it’s easy to see how the E-Transit helps today’s businesses
move smarter, faster, and cleaner.
The ‘25 E-Transit Cargo Van is where this fleet truly shines,
transforming the typical “work van” into a business solution on wheels. For the new model year, its
50/50 hinged rear door now has a standard 180-degree opening for low/medium roofs, while high roofs
feature a 253-degree opening, making for easier rear access. New optional equipment for the Cargo Van
includes Pro Power Onboard, a wall liner kit, a large grab handles kit, Smart Acceleration Truncation
for optimized vehicle performance, and four available trade-specific packages developed in collaboration
with Ranger Design. These factory-installed packages range from general contractors and electricians to
plumbers and HVAC technicians, and they come outfitted with custom shelving, drawers, and work surfaces
tailored to each profession.
Models and Dimensions
The ‘25 Ford E-Transit fleet is built on a durable steel unibody platform and offered in three
configurations: Cutaway, Chassis Cab, and Cargo Van. To suit a range of occupational needs, the Cargo
Van is offered with multiple roof heights — low, medium, and high — as well as two lengths, long and
extended.
Cargo capacity varies by configuration. The long wheelbase with a low roof provides
277.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row. The medium roof increases that volume to 357.1
cubic feet, while the high roof expands it to 404.3 cubic feet. The extended length paired with a high
roof offers the most room, with 487.3 cubic feet of usable cargo volume.
Performance, Range, and Charging
Every 2025 E-Transit model is powered by a 198-kW rear-wheel drive system that consists of a single
rear-mounted electric motor and an 89-kWh battery. This electric powertrain generates 266 horsepower and
317 lb.-ft. of torque, while maximum payload estimates range from 3,249 pounds in the long low-roof
configuration to 2,799 pounds in the extended high-roof version.
The body style determines each
model’s estimated driving range. The long wheelbase with a low roof offers the highest range at 159
miles, followed by 148 miles for the medium roof, 143 miles for the high roof, and 142 miles for the
extended-length high roof. Estimated maximum payload capacities range from 3,249 pounds in the long
low-roof model to 2,799 pounds in the extended high-roof version.
Charging times are dependent on
the power source. Using a DC fast charger rated at over 180 kW, the battery can be recharged from 10 to
80 percent in approximately 28 minutes. A 50-kW DC fast charger performs the same task in about 82
minutes. With a Level 2 (240V, 80A) connection, a full charge takes just over six hours. Level 2 (32A)
charging extends that time to roughly 14 hours and 20 minutes. In optimal conditions, a 15-minute DC
fast charge can add an estimated 67 miles of range to the low-roof configuration.
Standard Features and Packages
The 2025 Ford E-Transit fleet offers a consistent suite of standard features across all three body
styles. Each has standard two-passenger seating with Dark Palazzo Gray vinyl upholstery, manually
reclining front bucket seats with adjustable headrests, and a cloth headliner. Additional standard
equipment include SYNC 4 infotainment with a 12-inch screen, FordPass Connect, FordPro Telematics
Essentials, a medium center console with a rotary gear shift dial, front vinyl floor covering, a locking
glove box, assist handles on the A-pillars, map lights with theater dimming, and dual 12-volt power
outlets in the center console and instrument panel. Available interior upgrades include cloth
upholstery, armrests, all-weather floor mats, an auxiliary fuse panel with a high-spec interface
connector, a front overhead shelf, and infotainment upgrades (built-in navigation, SiriusXM with 360L,
and HD Radio).
The standard exterior features include 16-inch steel wheels with full silver
covers, black high-intensity discharge headlamps, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and tinted glass.
Auto-locking drive-away with crash unlocking is also standard across the entire lineup. Optional
exterior hardware includes fog lights, front wheel-well liners, and a choice of short-arm or long-arm
side mirrors (both fold manually and are heated and power-adjustable). Intelligent Access is also
available for convenient entry and exit.
Advanced Safety and Driving Aids
Apart from a high-resolution backup camera found only on the Cargo Van, the ‘25 E-Transit fleet is
outfitted with the same advanced driving aids and Ford Co-Pilot360 technologies. In terms of active
safety features, each E-Transit model has automatic high beams, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, AdvanceTrac
with Roll Stability Control, side-wind stabilization, and hill start assist, while the noteworthy
passive safety measures include a Safety Canopy system with side-curtain airbags and an SOS post-crash
alert system that will send out a distress call to emergency services upon airbag deployment.
For
driver-assist technologies, every ‘25 E-Transit vehicle gets pre-collision assist with automatic
emergency braking, post-collision braking, a lane-keeping system with lane-keeping alert, road edge
detection, and a driver alert system that can help detect signs of drowsiness. For an extra layer of
safety, buyers can add adaptive cruise control, blind spot assist/lane change warning and aid, blind
spot information system, cross-traffic alert, intelligent speed assist, and park aid (front/side/rear).
The Cargo Van is eligible for an optional 360-degree camera, enhanced active park assist, reverse brake
assist, traffic sign recognition, and trailer hitch assist.
