Trims and Powertrains

Last year’s five-trim lineup will continue for 2025 with the Big Bend, Heritage, Free Wheeling, Outer Banks, and Badlands. Most of them will have an efficient turbocharged 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine with an output of 180 horsepower, but the Badlands trim will retain its more powerful (238 hp) turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. All trims have standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Badlands’ gearbox will be upgraded with an oil cooler and a manual shift mode with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Depending on the trim and options, cargo capacity ranges from 29.4 to 32.5 cubic feet behind the back seat to 60.6 to 65.2 cubic feet behind the front row. Towing capacity is expected to remain at 2,200 pounds for the 1.5-liter engine and 2,700 pounds for the 2.0-liter.

Standard Features

The base Big Bend trim will come equipped with automatic climate control, fabric upholstery, a manual liftgate with flip-up rear glass, a 12.3-inch customizable digital instrument panel, a body color roof, wireless device charging, six USB ports (two in the back row), and 17-inch aluminum wheels. The Heritage will add an Oxford White roof, unique side decals, exclusive plaid cloth seating, and 17-inch Oxford White-painted aluminum wheels. The Free Wheeling trim has a retro vibe with prominent exterior “sunset” graphics, a shadow black roof, front and rear floor liners, Sunset Weave cloth upholstery, and red-accented 17-inch wheels.

The Outer Banks will get an upscale touch with heated front seats, a heated premium-wrapped steering wheel, premium-trimmed seating surfaces, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a six-way power front passenger seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED fog lights, key fob-activated remote start, a shadow black roof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 18-inch wheels. The Badlands will get most of the features of the Outer Banks plus some notable extras, like an advanced all-wheel-drive system with a twin-clutch rear drive unit, underbody skid plates and shields, leather upholstery, a driver’s memory system, heated power side mirrors with power-fold, and 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. A significant addition for 2025 will be the Sasquatch package, available on both Outer Banks and Badlands trims. This package offers larger 29-inch Goodyear Territory All-Terrain tires, Bilstein position-sensitive dampers with piggyback reservoirs, and increased suspension travel.

Advanced Driver Aids Safety Technology

Every 2025 Bronco Sport will come standard with Ford’s Co-Pilot360 Assist+ suite of advanced driver-assistance features. The system includes collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, a lane-keeping system (lane-keeping assist, lane-keeping alert, and driver alert), rear cross-traffic braking, evasive steering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and rear parking sensors. The Badlands will be further loaded with a surround-view monitor, reverse brake assist, and front parking sensors.

Infotainment and Connectivity

A significant update for model year 2025 comes with the SYNC 4 infotainment system, with 13.2-inch touchscreen system now standard in place of the previous 8-inch unit. This system’s components will be navigation, a wireless phone connection, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, cloud connected services, and voice control. Look for a six-speaker sound system in every trim, with an optional ten-speaker Bang & Olufsen system offered for the Outer Banks and Badlands.
