The ’24 E-Transit is a rear-wheel drive electric utility van that Ford offers in three different body styles: Cutaway, Chassis Cab, and Cargo Van. Those are all made in long and extended body lengths. While each body style comes with a low roof by default, the Cargo Van can be configured with a medium or high roof.
The powertrain consists of an 89-kWh battery and a single electric motor that produces 266 hp and 317 lb.-ft. of torque. With the low roof, the ’24 E-Transit is a bit more aerodynamic, achieving an EPA-estimated 159 miles of range. This changes to 148 miles with the medium roof and 143 miles with the high roof.
Storage space varies across the ’24 E-Transit lineup. The long Cargo Van with the low roof presents 311.9 cubic feet of cargo volume. With the medium roof, that increases to 400.5 cu. ft. The high-roof long Cargo Van boasts 453.4 cu. ft., while the high-roof extended length has 536.4 cu. ft.
The payload capacities for the E-Transit are robust as well. The long Cargo Van with the low roof can carry up to 3,249 pounds, whereas the extended Cutaway with the low roof has a maximum payload of 3,997 lb. The extended Chassis Cab with the low roof can take on as much as 3,960 lb.
The ‘24 E-Transit Cutaway and Chassis Cab share many compelling features, including proximity keyless entry, automatic headlights and high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, push-button start, dual USB ports, and FordPro telematics essentials. They also come with Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system, which consists of a 12-inch touchscreen with navigation, voice recognition, and Bluetooth. Standard safety aids consist of pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, post-collision braking, and lane-keeping assist.
The ’24 E-Transit Cutaway and Chassis Cab are also eligible for a series of upgrades, like heated and power-adjustable short- or long-arm side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, wiper-activated headlights, fog lights, a front overhead shelf, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, speed limit assist, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and a six-speaker sound system. What’s more, the 120-volt Pro Power Onboard generator is available to turn your E-Transit into a mobile power source.
The ‘24 E-Transit Cargo Van has the same features as the Cutaway and Chassis Cab (automatic headlights and high beams, rain-sensing wipers, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, dual USB ports, FordPro telematics essentials, SYNC 4 infotainment, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, post-collision braking, and lane-keeping assist); however, it’s distinguished by a 50/50-hinged rear door that opens 253 degrees and a sliding passenger-side door (the low-roof model includes a 60/40 hinged passenger-side door).
The Cargo Van is also eligible for the same options as the Cutaway and Chassis Cab (heated and power-adjustable short- or long-arm side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, wiper-activated headlights, fog lights, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, speed limit assist, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, a six-speaker sound system, and Pro Power Onboard), plus running boards, a keyless entry keypad, a surround-view camera, reverse brake assist, blind-spot assist, rear and side parking sensors, and active parking assistance.
